Hi! I'm Brian Senior, living in Minety with Karen, my wife, and have 2 grown up kids. We've been here for nearly 20 years now, so we're just settling in, in village terms! My background's in business, and I retired from energy trading some 10 years ago now. Since then I've run a charity for 5 years and then set up a small business helping other small businesses, and I also help on the Board of a couple of other companies plus a charity in West Swindon. Spare time? Still stupid enough to attempt 5-a-side football with a bunch of guys half my age; but otherwise I quite enjoy walking, and do a fair bit of reading...
I've been a Reader/Lay Minister for quite a few years now (nearly 25, when I work it out!) and I serve primarily in Minety parish, taking a couple of services a month and also writing notes for small groups, doing other bits and pieces as and when they need doing.... My passion? To join in with what God's doing - in individuals, the church, the village and beyond.

I am 69 years old. My son is the fifth generation to live in Minety and I have lived here 30 years. I have managed my own training business for 23 years providing courses in alcohol and drug awareness for various types of offenders. For the past 16 years I have also served as Deputy Chairman, Treasurer and Company Secretary for the Swindon and Wiltshire Alcohol and Drug Service (a local charity). I have served in the past as Churchwarden and PCC Secretary at St Leonard’s and am now a Licensed Lay Minister in the Braydonbrook Benefice. I see great potential among the young people of Minety and view them as a vast untapped resource for our parish. I am keen to find ways to engage with young people and bring them to Christ, if not actually through the church door. My hobbies are cooking (I have attended a number of courses) and I am currently working my way through a blues guitar course, which helps re-arrange my scrambled brain cells at the end of the day into some sort of normal pattern!

Rachel Swatton - LLM Youth Work
Telephone: 01666 861035
Hi! My name is Rachel Swatton. I live in Minety with my husband, 2 daughters and an "acquired" teenager! As well as my work in church, I work in the local Preschool, teach sewing lessons and am a governor at Minety school. I don't get much spare time, but my favourite hobby is sewing. I learned everything I know from my wonderful mother and I'm now enjoying passing on the same skills to my own children. I've made everything from wedding dresses to a choir robe for a Jack Russell! Anyone who can't see an immediate connection between sewing and God has never sat at a sewing machine at 3am, praying the garment will fit when it's finished!!!
I am a Licensed Lay Minister and work regularly in Minety and Crudwell churches taking services, as well as filling in around the group when needed. I'm also involved in pastoral work in the group, with my particular passion being any work to do with children and young people, from leading assemblies and baptism visits to running a church youth group. Meeting and working with young people in the area is my favourite part if the "job". I have also particularly enjoyed being able to share my beliefs not only in person but on local radio which, whilst very nerve racking, felt like a huge privilege!
I was bought up in a Christian family and my faith has alway been the most significant part of my life, however, if you'd asked me 10 years ago, I would never have dreamed I would become a minister. When 4 or 5 unrelated people in 2 weeks ask you if you've ever though about training as a lay minister, it's time to take the hint! We moved to Minety 6 yeas ago, a month before I was licensed, so I have only ever served here. I love the diversity of ministry, meeting people from so many walks of life, all at different points in their journeys and I love every minute!
